EveryDrop™ Ice & Water Refrigerator Filter 4

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy this product This is a poor product. My water feeding it runs through a reverse osmosis filter. When the filter is installed the pressure is greatly reduced. These filters are extremely expensive and you have to replace them often.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fine filter, Lousy service It is very surprising that a company with such a brand reputation like Whirlpool can give lousy service. The water filter is fine, but the order process was way below expectations. After placing the order, I got a confirming email that said I would get the filter "within the next few weeks". Say What? I called customer service wondering if there was a back-order situation. No, the filters are in stock. But customer service said it takes 7-10 days to ship plus transportation time. What company, in 2019, takes 7-10 days to ship an online order? The confirming email also said I would get another email with the tracking number when the order shipped. Guess what! I got the filter today 6 business days after ordering but still no email that it has shipped and with a tracking number.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not as bad as we feared After reading these reviews we were terrified to replace the filter that was originally installed with our Jenn Air refrigerator...low flow? Leaks? Major damage to apartment? But it was ok. It's a little tricky to install but what I gleaned from these reviews and the ones on Home Depot's site is that you have to really push the filter in hard as you turn it. We had some hairy moments at first with water spewing from the filter and from the dispenser, but a second try went much better. 24 hours later it seems to be working fine, no leaks, making regular ice, no problems. Note: I did check that the new filter was *exactly* the same size as the old one after seeing some scary photos of actual Everydrop filters that were at least 1/4 inch shorter than the originals. So, go ahead and try it. Remains to be seen how long it lasts, though.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn't last 6 months The original filter that came with the new refrigerator lasted 6 months. Since then I have ordered 2 EveryDrop #4 filters and each has only lasted less than 2 months!!! Maybe I should try the generic for 1/2 the price?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very low flow Recieved my order yesterday. Installed it as video shows. VERY LOW FLOW. I was patiently flushing out more than 4 gallons of water but still no improvement. And I bought 2 of them and yearly refill because I trusted whirlpool!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unhappy With Water Filter How can I remove the water filter, replacing it with a bypass plug? Is the bypass plug in the refrigerator? The filter has too many problems and it is too expensive not to work properly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Quite possibly the worst product I’ve ever used As others have said, caused extremely low flow after installing, but I can’t do anything about it because it’s impossible to remove. It’s a water filter, shouldn’t be that complicated.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product failed, flooded my house I have used these filters for years with no problems, but recently the one in my fridge that I purchased last year suddenly failed, spraying water all over my fridge and on to the floor. I replaced it with a new filter, but shortly after noticed water leaking on my floor; the new filter had a small drip leak. I replaced that one with a brand new filter last night. Everything seemed fine, no leaks, tested out the water dispenser to make sure it worked. All good. This morning I woke up, went down stairs, and my entire 1st floor of my house was flooded. The filter burst open, the plastic cracked. Thousands of dollars in property damage, my floors destroyed, and now trying to prevent mold. These filters are defective. Buying one is playing Russian roulette with your home. Avoid at all costs or risk a major catastrophe. My faith in this product is gone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No Longer Works Properly We've been purchasing these #4 filters for several years with no issues, but this last replacement caused significantly low flow (only while filter is attached). Over the last few months we've tried 4 of these filters from 3 different sellers (including directly from Whirlpool), and they're all defective. I've contacted Whirlpool's customer support a couple of times now; the first time they denied they had any account of this issue, which is interesting because you can find similar complaints all over the internet, and they informed me they couldn't do anything about it unless I purchased directly from them. I told them I didn't think it would make any difference, but she informed me there was a 90 day warranty if that was the case. Sure enough, that filter wasn't any better and in fact didn't even fit properly (image attached). It's slightly shorter than the other filters, which proves there's some inconsistencies with the product. I called customer support to inform them I was still having the same issue. She placed me on hold for about 10 minutes and came back with no other suggestion than to say she could send a tech out for about $100. I told her the fridge works fine, had worked fine with every filter until now, and works fine without the filter in place, and if we needed a tech it’s likely because their productive is defective, so I didn’t see why we had to pay so much just to have someone look at it. I told her I was not impressed with their product or service and asked for a refund for the filters I’d purchased from them. She refused because the product was now ”used". I pointed out to her there's no way to know a product is defective it you haven't attempted to use it. She apologized, but refused to help me. I asked for a supervisor, and was placed on hold for about another half hour before I finally gave up; the call had lasted 49 minutes by that point and I was late for work. I’ve reported them to the Better Business Bureau. Unacceptable business practices, to say the least.
